Technical Specialist – Windows Server – Glasgow – £41k

hello-worldAs a Technical Specialist you will work closely with other Technology staff and 3rd parties and will collaborate with project teams to ensure that change within the environment is managed and controlled effectively.
The core aspect of your role will cover the 3rd line support of enterprise services delivered to internal and external customers hosted on Windows Server Physical and Virtual Infrastructure. Working closely with 1st and 2nd tier support teams to deliver a professional effective enterprise support offering.

Alongside this support requirement, you will work as part of larger project delivery teams, to deliver new services and enhance existing services. Your role within these teams will span across all of the project lifecycle including (but not be limited to) design influence, infrastructure build, test environment support and implementation deliverables and support.

We need you to have
• In-Depth Experience of VMWare vSphere 6.x (Install, Configure, Manage)
• In-Depth Experience of Microsoft Servers, Applications & Management tools:
o Windows Server 2008/2012 (Install, Configure, Manage)
o Active Directory (Install, Configure, Manage)
o Windows Networking Technologies (DNS, IPv4, DHCP)
o SCCM 2012 (Install, Configure, Manage)
o McAfee ePO
• Self-motivated individual with the ability to resolve complex operational problems, meet critical deadlines and to deliver quality work first time around
• Possess Microsoft Certification in a Windows Server Technology (MCP)

We would like you to have:
• Possess a MCSA/MCSE Certification
• Have Knowledge of, or Experience with:-
o HP/Dell Server / Blade hardware and management
o Infoblox IPAM / DNS Appliances
o Networking Providers/Technologies (Cisco, HP Virtual Connect)
o System Center Operations Manager 2012
o Powershell or other scripting experience
o Citrix XenApp & XenDesktop
o Citrix Netscaler & Citrix PVS
• Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and drive change in a collaborative manner
